Bayonet Point Animal Clinic

Bayonet Point Animal Clinic is an accredited member of the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) and has been serving the veterinary needs of Port Richey since 1976. Our facility is continually evolving and changing in an attempt to provide you, the client and your pets with the highest quality veterinary care available.  We specialize in all small companion animals and exotics.

The doctors and staff of Bayonet Point Animal Clinic are here to assist you and your pets' needs.  Our staff will be happy to answer any questions you may have and will inform you when annual physical examinations, preventative vaccinations or diagnostic tests are necessary.

Our staff includes two full-time doctors, two receptionists and five technicians/assistants.

    Robert R. Hase, Jr., DVM, Medical Director

    Dr. Hase is a 1970 graduate of Texas A&M University, College of Veterinary Medicine and has operated the clinic since 1972.  He is a respected and influential member of the Florida Veterinary Medical Association (FVMA), having been elected to various chairs, and in 1988 was named the Florida Veterinarian of the Year.  Dr. Hase is an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the Suncoast Veterinary Medical Association and has been a proud member of the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) since 1979.  He is Chairman of the Pasco County Animal Control Advisory Board and is an authority on animal abuse cases, frequently testifying in court on such cases.
     
    Dr. Hase provides a wide variety of veterinary healthcare and treatment to all companion animals, with special emphasis on dermatology, internal and preventative medicine, and ultrasound technology.

    Married with two grown children and two adorable granddaughters, he and his wife share their home with two cats and two dogs.  Dr. Hase is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys mountain biking, kayaking and cooking on his barbecue grill.

  • Carolyn Kohn, DVM

    Carolyn Kohn, DVM

    Dr. Carolyn Kohn, or Dr. Carolyn as she prefers to be called, received her DVM from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Mississippi State University in 2001.  Prior to coming to our clinic in November, 2011, she was in practice at the SPCA clinic in Lakeland, Florida and has practiced in Bradenton and Sarasota, concentrating on small animals and exotics.  She has been an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) since 2001.

    In her spare time she enjoys riding her motorcycle, scuba diving, kayaking, reading and playing her Wii.  She is married and has one dog, one macaw, two cats and several "rescue" hermit crabs.

    Felice, Receptionist

    Felice joined the clinic in June, 2005 and brought with her 16 years experience in the veterinary field as a receptionist.  She moved from New Hampshire to Florida with her husband and their cats and loves working in her garden, reading and cooking.

    Carrie came to us in February, 2011 from Arkansas.  She enjoys exploring Florida and going to the movies with her fiance', reading and cooking.  She is the proud mother of two sons and is owned by two cats.

    Sheryl, CVT

    Sheryl earned her Animal Science Degree in Massachusetts and moved to Florida in 1977.  She received her CVT degree from St. Pete College and has a true love of laboratory sciences.

    When she started at the clinic in 1978, all lab tests were sent for processing to an outside lab.  She and Dr. Hase have worked diligently to build an extensive in-house lab and today most test results are ready before our patients leave the clinic.

    Sheryl and her husband have fostered many pets.

    Julie, CVT

    Julie joined our clinic in May, 2011 and has been a Certified Veterinary Technician for over 20 years.  She is the proud owner of dogs, cats and a bearded dragon.  Reading and crocheting keep her busy in her spare time.

    Colette came to the clinic in June, 2007 and has been working in the veterinary field since 2004.  She moved to Florida from upstate New York and is married with two children, 3 dogs Acheron, Kailey and Bella and Ziggy the cat.

    Kimberly, Practice Manager

    Kimberly joined Bayonet Point Animal Clinic in September of 2012. She currently is a manager for Bayonet Point Animal Clinic as well as Cypress Creek Animal Hospital in Lutz, Florida. She has been working in the veterinary field since 1992. When not working she enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 children. Her family also includes 3 dogs Baya, Izzy and Lady and 3 cats, Necco, Charlie and Itty Bitty.
